Daze thumpers are the only thing that is semi-common that are consistantly tough. Burst sins, I find, are usually very bad at their job. A good burst sin who can tell when the monk is pressured and act then is tough, but the majority are very bad. I suppose that comes from a class that's powerful with a 1-2-3-4-5-6 button combo.

Well played:
- Hammer Warriors:
The hammer warrior is an obvious one. Get caught without prots up and you're in for a nasty ride with his combo. It also takes a good deal of effort to follow him around and try to predict his spikes. Very difficult if your team doesn't have melee shutdown and you're under pressure otherwise. Thumpers are also a significant threat.
- Condition Rangers
First off, high team degen is a royal pain in an extended match, particularly if your teammates don't have a self-heal or a means of shutting down said ranger. Also if you're under high pressure and the ranger manages to catch a key skill with DS, it can be the difference in the match. Res interruption is also huge.
- Curse Necros
As a monk they pose a limited threat to me personally, but if my team is heavy on melee, a curses necro can effectively mitigate a good portion of your teams offense. Basically 1 holy veil isn't enough to counter a hex necro, especially if your team isn't doing anything to shut him down. Until they nerf ZB I can't justify using an elite hex removal, so basically you just have to hope you either get someone with additional hex removal, or your team has a means of shutting him down. I've had all melee teams steamroll through 8 wins only to face a dual curses team and be shot down. Your team's damage will be cut drastically and eventually the degen and other pressure catches up.
For whatever reason good mesmers aren't too common in RA these days, but a domination mesmer who knows what he's doing can be a big difference maker as well.
As far as the other classes go:
Ele - Rendered mostly useless by PS. Can be a niusance with B Surge, or Water Magic.
Sin - Once you learn to spot Expose Defenses, a Sin isn't a huge threat unless his teammates are diverting enough of your attention and energy from the task.
Rit - If your team is smart enough not to charge into 50 spirits, you'll be ok. If anything they're just an annoyance, since they extend matches due to excessive team camping.
Derv - Threat reduced after Grenth got nerfed. Limited disruption and no KD's make them fairly easy to defend against.
Para - Dazed can be annoying, and if the Para has 2 melee teammates, the attack buffs can also hurt. Not really a threat of the same level as the top 3, in any case. Leadership primary doesn't work well with 4v4, and the Motivation massacre didn't help either.

Not a fan of Migraine mesmers, or Grenth Dervs which aren't so common anymore.
Anything Melee is easily kiteable....Burst Sins are noob.
What I fear the most, is the idiots on my team.

1: Someone who thinks he knows about target calling
X Dominator X: All on same target plz
X Dominator X: I'm attacking [monk]
X Dominator X: I'm attacking [monk]
X Dominator X: I'm attacking [monk]
X Dominator X: I'm attacking [monk]
X Dominator X: I'm attacking [monk]
X Dominator X: I'm attacking [monk]
X Dominator X: I'm attacking [monk]
X Dominator X: I'm attacking [monk]
X Dominator X: I'm attacking [monk]
X Dominator X: I'm attacking [monk]
X Dominator X: I'm attacking [monk]
X Dominator X: I'm attacking [monk]
X Dominator X: I'm attacking [monk]
When I see that, I know nothing in this world can convince this person that monk stomp is bad. I know that if my team follows his calls we're most likely going to lose, and he's going to rant at me for not healing him,
X Dominator X: Noob monk can't heal.
-- {X Dominator X} Stfu retard
{X Dominator X}You didn't even follow calls noob
--{X Dominator X}I'm the monk idiot
{X Dominator X}And you only heal and no attack in between? noob
and if my team doesn't follow his calls he'll rant at them for not following calls
X Dominator X: Follow my calls ffs
X Dominator X: I'm attacking [monk]
X Dominator X: I'm attacking [monk]
X Dominator X: I'm attacking [monk]
X Dominator X: I'm attacking [monk]
X Dominator X: I'm attacking [monk]
X Dominator X: I'm attacking [monk]
X Dominator X: I'm attacking [monk]
X Dominator X: I'm attacking [monk]
X Dominator X: noobs
X Dominator X has left the game
I find people like that scary
2:Hexers scare the crap out of me, especially when there's two of them.
3:Sprit Spammers, because my team likes to think letting him place all his spirits and then rushing in is a good thing, and a monk who can't deal with the extra 80DPS (or 140, depending on if they use that hex) is a retarded noob.
X Dominator X is not this person's real name. I don't know an X Dominator X, and if you see an X Dominator X in game he might as well be a very good player.

What makes me nervous in RA
Migraine Mesmers (rare)
Hammer Warriors/Thumpers
And pretty much people that know what they are doing.
There was this one ele who used mind shock, shock, and gale at me over and over.
By the time he ran out of energy he was the only one on his team left alive.

Tell me about it. o.o
Nothing really comes off as much of a threat in RA that is... unless you're met with some freak spike team by chance (which does happen though rarely. x])

The one thing I really dislike is degen. Anything else you can preveil or Shield of Deflection away, but against degen, you're stuffed.
